A Redditor posted a picture of their mother holding a painting. Someone else posted a picture of themselves holding a painting of the first picture...

A little recursion later, there is now an interactive diagram of the I painted... family tree, currently encompassing twenty four paintings over nine generations.

I saw this after taking a break from reading sad/horrible news on the NY Times website. What a lovely bright spot in our world today. It reminds me of how much capacity for joy and creativity we each contain.

This is absolutely delightful. I love seeing people make art for the sole purpose of entertaining random internet strangers and having a laugh. If only reddit were more of this and less... well... you know.
