This is pretty cool. I saw one or two people with albinism during my time in west central Africa, and for sure they stood out. This was a part of the world where people would literally stop on the street, point at me, and shout (in French) "Hey! Look at that white guy over there!" And I was was walking around with a ton of privilege—I was an obvious foreigner with all kinds of markers of relative wealth, and was generally in a group with several obviously high-status locals. I imagine that for regular folks who just happen to have albinism, things are pretty tough. It's really cool to see people pushing back against that. Thanks for the post.
