You're a member of the family, you gotta do something to keep this place tidy. Even you, chameleon, you have some work to do. Max the cat, don't just lay around (or do, and I'll put you to work). But Jesse the Jack Russel Terrier, the most helpful dog in the world really tackles chores with gusto (bonus Jesse clips: useful dog tricks #1, #2, #3). posted by filthy light thief (20 comments total) 14 users marked this as a favorite

Jesse seems... kind of aggro?

Hey, Jesse has my coffee grinder! Good boy!

Max and Beatrix T. Cattenborough clearly have similar chores around the house. Although Beatrix prefers to stare under the stove for hours on end until, maybe once or twice a year, a mouse comes out. She also likes to make sure Mrs. slkinsey's ankles stay in their lane.

My dog rinses the dishes before they go in the dishwasher. It's important to teach responsibility.

I spent a couple of seconds wondering how Max the cat had got stuck up the wall like that, before realising that he was actually lying on the floor.

We also have a helpful cat, Mum-rah. She is the source of the term "helpful like a cat." As in the sarcastic "you're being helpful like a cat."

I think Jesse is just, like, super enthusiastic.

Jesse does that "look at mommydaddy all the time when walking" thing.

We sing Helping from Free to Be You and Me to our cats:
Some kind of help is the kind of help
That helping's all about
And some kind of help is the kind of help
We all can do without

He's just a Jack Russell Terrier. If you took away the aggro, you'd have a small pile of fur and a collar.

The woman in the Max video was basically every terrifying mother/school teacher from my childhood.

Jesse needs to learn how to load a washing machine properly. There definitely weren't enough clothes in it. On top of that, I hear he doesn't separate them in to colors vs. darks vs. lights vs. whites.

Can confirm as a Jack Russell owner that what youโ€™re seeing in the Jesse videos isnโ€™t aggro and is more enthusiasm, though ZaphodBโ€™s comment made me laugh. They are very intense little creatures! And they are also smart and can be neurotic; they need a job to do or else they get bored and think too much and become anxious and destructive. So Jesseโ€™s owner is very, very smart to teach Jesse to do all these things...a busy Jack Russell is a happy Jack Russell.

Are we sure? I feel like Jesse is enslaved and needs a stoner family to love with.
