"Reuters Graphics has taken a close look at the franchise's iconic weapon..." The data is presented in a unique way - keep scrolling to see lots of neat tidbits.

Some highlights:

-The best record (so far) goes to Rey, who's single win puts her at 100% wins.
-Anakin manages to lose three hands over the series.
-Mace Windu gets the lightsaber duel trifecta by losing a hand, dying, and falling from a great height.

That was fun to look at, and was a good summary of what I had already absorbed across the 42 years of my involvement with this stupid series. I'm eager for it to be over, so I can be free.

Although I thought Rogue One was brilliant and I loved it and yay. But that's 9 year old me, truly. I didn't know he was still around, but yay!

I liked the bit at the end where I learned that they made the noises by waving the microphones around like light sabers.

If you look at the episode 3 footage there's no way his cock & balls didn't get burnt off also.

It's just awful period. I hope this trend of websites where scrolling doesn't scroll dies quickly. It's like the 2019 version of the blink tag.

The greatest laser-sword fight of all time should be awarded to Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul. And I'm not talking about their fight in Episode I. This last fight takes place in the desert, in an episode of Star Wars Rebels. And holy shit. It's one of the most amazing fights. Here's an article/interview with Dave Filoni where he explains the fight in more detail. And here's the fight.

It's my favorite laser-sword fight in all of Star Wars history.

I should note, the entire fight is choreographed as a fight between two samurai. It brought tears to my eyes when I watched it forever ago. Star Wars Rebels has meant more to me as a Star Wars fan than pretty much every other Star Wars property, with the exception of the Empire. It's just that good. If you have Disney+ streaming, all of Rebels is worth your time. It's a slow go at first but you'll be rewarded with some beautiful story-telling and lovely animation. I'll stop my pepsi-blue of Rebels, thanks for enduring my little rant. I just love this series so much.

Zero argument from me.... the scene is so dense, so layered.... ugh, it's too perfect.

Fizz,

Damn, i might watch that show. I have Disney + and am kind of on a Star Wars kick, for obvious reasons. [ Ticket to Rise of Skywalker, Saturday 9:00 AM, squeeee!!!!! ]

I've just been re-watching the prequels this week, and the number of times lightsabers get dropped by their Jedi is slightly alarming.

Perhaps some sort of wrist-strap or lanyard might be in order.

Their #5 should be #1, and take out stupid levitating bullshit Yoda, but the graphics are cool.

Also, should it more properly be "lightsabers" or "lights-saber"?

We'll never be free of the Star Wars monkeys on our backs. The Disney plan is to keep making Star Wars long after we're dead.

BTW, if anybody from Disney is reading this, please get on making a movie from the Darth Vader vs. Aliens comics. Just don't let the folks who fucked up the Alien vs. Predator movies anywhere near it.

Whiteskull, lightsabers. Light on this case is the adjective, so the noun gets turned into a plural, like notaries public or attorneys general, both of which are rare cases of noun adjective order in English.

But is it a saber made of light, or a light that performs the function of a saber?

Also, should it more properly be "lightsabers" or "lights-saber"?

The plural of lightsaber is also lightsaber, since the name is a corruption of "leuchtet aber" or "lights, but" as in "lights, but they are cutty and stabby."

In a veritable redwood forest of poor name choices, “Kit Fisto” stands particularly tall.

I'm just amazed that they had Samuel L. Jackson playing a character named "Mace Windu," and never once used the line "You messed with the saber, now you get the Mace."

I gotta tell you, since the Great Purge, where Tartakovsky's Clone Wars was demoted out of canon, Greivous really gets short-shrift, because until Mace Windu force-crushed his exo-chest, compressing the meat within, that cyborg was a straight-up Jedi Killing Machine.

Also didn’t appreciate until now that Samuel L got a special laser sword color. That must have been a heck of an artists’ rider.

Windu. Because he was a cool black cat.

The white one we named Trogdor. Unfortunately for Windu, he lived up to it.
