How does this timeline interact with mob culture/ oligarch billionaires in tracksuits?

I had wondered how Juicy ended up in Kohl's, but never really bothered to look so thanks for the link!

I was never really crazy about the Juicy tracksuits mostly because I couldn't afford the real thing and it was just too much (the colors, the sparkles, Juicy on the butt) for me.

My kids have cousins who are a lot older than they are, and it's always interesting to see the trends that ended up in children's clothing through their hand-me-downs. My daughter, born 2013, inherited a LOT of Paul Frank "Julius" gear, and a LOT of velour tracksuits. I couldn't bear to put either of them on her. I thought Juicy suits looked dumb when they were hip, and they looked even dumber a decade or so later.

I have been certain for a long time that the name "Juicy Couture" itself is a dare against society to shorten it to "Juicy Cooch."

...Juicy on the butt

I'm not sure that's any worse than "Pink" being emblazoned across butts from middle-schools to retirement communities.

Maybe no more writing on the butt entirely?

In high school, our volleyball team wanted the shorts to say “Spike This!” across the butt. We didn’t get that approved, but we did get “Titans Volleyball” written on the butt instead.

That said, I loved the velour sweatsuit fad, because you don’t have to tell me twice to wear a sweatsuit!

I was in college in the early aughts , and one of the most popular collegiate wear was pants with the school name across the butt , with 'UM' on one cheek and 'ASS' on the other.

I hated the tracksuit thing so never had a pair, but all of my friends had them.

I always associated Juicy Couture jumpsuits with Jennifer Lopez, not Paris Hilton.

Semi-related: a Greekchat discussion from 2004 about whether it's appropriate to wear sorority letters on your rear end. Opinions were very mixed.
