For her latest Tiny Desk Concert, Phoebe Bridgers uses a green screen to sing the first 2-1/2 songs in a virtual Oval Office but at the apocalyptic end of "I Know The End", she gets help from a virtual crowd of fans for the chorus and that final primal scream.(SLYT)

Watched this the other day with my daughter, we are both Phoebe fans. The last track is so good, esp. the end. It's how we're all feeling right now.

I think Punisher is my favorite album of 2020 so far. For those who haven't seen it, the video for "I Know the End" is beautiful, haunting, terrifying. Easily one of the best music videos I've seen in quite a while; and I've been spending a great deal of my scarce free time these days indulging in as many music videos as I possibly can.

It seems like everything good about the past two years has had something to do with Phoebe Bridgers.

How she's been working since her first album will someday be taught as a master class in avoiding the sophomore album slump. She's done incredible work with a ton of musicians, contributed to a bunch of projects, evolved even further as a songwriter, and then brought everything and everyone together for a stunning album.

I'm following the Phoebe Bridgers Cinematic Universe closely, and I really look forward to seeing where she goes from here. Will boygenius or BOCC reunite? Will there be a Marshall Vore spinoff? Will she work with Christian Lee Hutson on a cheerful bubblegum pop single? Will she get together with Julia Jacklin and write the sprawling double concept album of my dreams?

Or... is the White House set foreshadowing?

I can dream.

I watched this late last night and started crying during the outro of I Know The End - I miss live music so much, and this will probably be the closest a shared musical experience for a long time yet. But one day, we'll be able to stand shoulder to shoulder again, screaming, together.

I saw Better Oblivion last year and was hoping to catch a solo show this year but obviously not. I do hope that boygenius does more work and/or yours more.

There’s an alternate universe where John Darnielle is the dude in BOCC and it’s fully good.

The breakdown and primal scream in I Know the End is, as they say, a Big Mood right now.

I love Phoebe Bridgers and the Phoebe Bridgers Cinematic Universe, and wallowing in it has been one of my great comforts this year. Her duet version of Killer + the Sound with Noah and Abby Gundersen has been one of my particular favorites. Such gorgeous harmonies.

I loved BOCC the way it was; we saw them in a club last year and I loved her harmonies with Oberst.
