The 400 identical selfies thing is always so bizarre to me. A friend of mine went on her honeymoon and posted some 30 or so pics to social media afterward--but I have no idea where they went, because every single one was just a close up of the two of them with virtually no background visible!
I know selfie sticks are derided and obnoxious but at least they give you half a chance at fitting some context or variety into the frame...

That "Sometimes you need to take a drive" Insta reminds me of the bit in the first Terminator movie when Kyle Reese is telling Sarah Connor how easily detectible the first Terminator models were before they reached the relative realism of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

My father and stepmother (same age-ish as the Gingriches) are not on social media, but if they were they (1) 100% would have a shared account, BobNNancy and (2) their feed would consist of nothing but selfies that look exactly like CallyNNewt. I shared this piece with my mom yesterday and we can't stop talking about it.

This is apparently on her substack, which you could throw money at. Maybe when I get tired of being a non-sports guy who pays for Defector I'll switch over for a bit.

I would say they look like audioanimatronics escaped from a Disney attraction, but those tend to have more character in their head sculpts.

Gingrich is a bad person and a danger to democracy. I don’t know who bankrolled him but a pox on all their houses.
Also, this third wife of his absolutely gets points for her freighteningly, positively die cast looking, rigid hair-do. It is an artifact that belongs in the Smithsonia as a cultural marker of an era -
