Aw, now you've made me go and miss my grandfather. He was a huge Pogo fan -- had every single one of the book collections. I devoured them all, though I didn't understand most of the political references, and since childhood I've always replayed these lyrics in my head anytime I hear this carol. I miss him.

Tattered and worn Pogo books were a large part of my childhood and still affect my vocabularwockle today. Thank you!

Oh … I am a total grinch but devoured Pogo books when I was a kid, and this post reminded me of the only carols I really like. Wow, I wonder if those books are still in an old closet somewhere. Thank you, chavenet!

My uncle would sing this every Christmas. Great, fun, guy. Hooked me on Spike Jones, too.

We used to sing this every year, but I only knew one verse.
I remember singing the first line at work and another coworker who I barely knew joined in.
I’m going to have to record this song.

The Toronto Globe and Mail was running Pogo when I was growing up. Thank you for the pleasant memories.

I grew up on aged Pogo collections as well -- my mother still has her "I Go Pogo" button from when she campaigned on campus during his first presidential bid.

I always felt a little sad for Harold, though, and wondered whether Trolley Molly had something against him, or was it that they just didn't click.
