Oh wow. That's going to keep my busy. (My wife has accused me of liking watching essays about movies more than I like watching actual movies).

This year also saw the return of several big names, such as Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou (the team behind Every Frame a Painting) in their contributions to Netflix’s Voir series, and Mike Rugnetta (former host of Idea Channel), who began uploading essays to a personal account.

That sentence on its own would make this whole article worth the time, and there is so much more in there.

Wow - that's an excellent collection of links and I look forward to diving into them.

Only complaint - no videos about all the things wrong with the most recent Marvel movie (Joking, joking...)

Fantastic list - my youtube habits have been trending more towards junk food viewing and this is the perfect thing to turn that around. I'm surprised at how many essayists are completely new to me given how much stuff I watch in the same vein.

I'm glad to see both F.D. Signifier and Jacob Geller represented. They would have been my picks for 2021.
