I can't stop listening to this. It's probably the only thing that could have taken my attention away from the surprise drop of The Guest II "soundtrack" today.

Demi Adejuyigbe is awesome. He's been really quiet since releasing the last September 21 so I'm guessing Hollywood has him working hard. That's even better news.

Something about this sounds more like late-period Elton John to me.

it's got everything a Lana del Rey song needs: passionate love for a clearly incompatible partner, melancholic longing for a relationship that hasn't ended yet, a hint of menace near the end, a part where she stops singing below her home octave & sings above her home octave for a couple bars

legitimately brilliant

It didn't have to be this good, but it's so fucking good. His Lana did a great job; the commitment to the bit is perfect.

See also: Morrissey's ending credits song for Green Book.
His 2017 Will Smith stint feels a little different now, but the Arrival end credits rap has a great second verse.

As it happens, that's Natalie Walker, previously famous for her Alto 2 rendition of "All I Want For Christmas Is You".

Demi Adejuyigbe is the Jon Bois of Demi Adejuyigbes.

By which I mean, somehow being uniquely talented in a totally unexpected but somehow essential for the good of the internet way. It reminds me of how I felt the first time I ran into Jenn Schiffer's writing. "I don't even know what this is, how did you get this good at it?"

This is delightful - I haven't been so delighted since I discovered that Bob Dylan sang the original of Rebecca Black's 'Friday'

This longer piece from Demi (with Addie Weyrich and Gabriel Gundacker) is a riot as well.

Addie and I both have been named as one of 10 people to watch by several national organizations... mostly 7-11s.

Remember Asterix, that french comic set in roman times with the gauls and the magic potion? The new films are pretty good, though they're all in french don't let that stop you enjoying Snoop's bounce-wit-me jam on the soundtrack.

Snoop dogg feat Jamel Debbouze - Asterix Mission Cleopatre

He must never turn down a gig.

genuinely giggled quite a bit at that last little button on the video

the song itself is possibly the most pitch-perfect joke ever told

I hate how much I legitimately enjoy this, it's so rude

This is even funnier having recently learned that Lana del Ray’s shtick is 100% serious and not tongue in cheek as previously thought.
