That was great. And for what it’s worth, the ruined cathedral is pretty awesome.

I love her. She's done a few different genres and recently some historical tv documentaries. This is one of my favourites and it's worth more than one viewing because there are hysterical little details that you might not catch first time.

Craig the tour guide who doesn't give a fuck has had some great jobs but remember, he just doesn't care and it's just a paycheque.

St Andrews has the highest density of guys named Craig that I've ever encountered.

Eleanor Moreton is a national treasure! (Speaking as a resident of Scotland.)

Her historical authors/figures reading their hatemail are hilarious too. George Orwell was the most recent one I think.

I can’t be the only one who immediately thought, “his name is Ian McDiarmid!”

oh, nuts. It really was just me?

This is fun. Thanks. (I say this with love as someone who often wears tweed in buildings built in the late 1800s that are clearly a confusingly inconsistent attempt at Oxbridge/Grenoble/Paris/Basel designed by people who'd very clearly had never been to Europe, or at least didn't take notes.)

Eleanor Morton is great! I love Suzanne Primate’s Jack the Ripper documentary.

The Loch Ness Tour Guide is the one that got me hooked on her tour guide series.

There tour guide ones should be done in green screen so the "sights" can be added in post.

Just moments before seeing this thread, I happen to have fixed to go and see Craig the Tour Guide live on the Fringe with a pal!

Eleanor Morton on twitter for anyone who wants more over there.

Yeah, Ansible beat me to my favorite.

In the comments, it's (correctly) pointed out that it was JRR who converted Lewis from atheism, and (equally correctly, for a comic bit) retorted that during this conversation, he probably regretted it.

I've always liked French Revolutionary's First Day Working the Guillotine

(Aside: I've lived in St Andrews, and this is 100% accurate. We all secretly hate golf, but nobody will ever say it out loud)

exhaustion as a comedic style is relatable.

Wyatt Cenac had a similar vibe for his comedy show--exhaustion, with the dive into occasional surrealism. relatable.

I came to know Eleanor Morton through Craig giving a tour of a whisky. To this day remains one of my favorites
