I think we are in a baby drought (understandable, given omens for our future). This leads to baby's surge in popularity.

There's been a baby shortage in my life the last two years, as the babies sensibly decide to stay home and not interact with strangers. When I do see a baby I now act pretty much as if I've seen a friendly dog, which is to say I would 100% cheer whatever these babies want me to cheer. Please don't use this power for evil, babies.
