Slide carousel as environmental organizing tool

The Last Great Wilderness slide show (link includes a video recreation of the slide show talk), developed by activists in 1988 and continuously toured for nearly two decades, played a vital role in building alliances between environmentalists and the Gwich’in Nation and in fostering grassroots action to keep oil drills out of the Arctic Refuge.

Wow, I think I saw this at one point! The Arctic Refuge fight has been really important in building ties between environmentalists and indigenous people in a way that doesn't get talked about a lot.

(I should have said "white-led environmental organizations," since many indigenous people are obviously environmentalists)
