I will celebrate the occasion by letting you all know that the new Yoshi's Island track in the Mario Kart 8 Booster Pack Thing is (A) actually based on the titular SNES game and (B) amazing: worth the price of the whole set of tracks by itself for anyone with fondness for the source material.

I will never forget how surprised I was when Twitch streamer and Mario speedrunner GrandPooBear pointed out that "doing the Mario", as described by Capt. Lou Albano, is just "walking normally".

Let's celebrate MAR10 Day by remembering Panga beating SMW blindfolded seven years ago. Apparently this is the only video Nintendo let him keep up when they comprehensively DMCA'd a ton of early romhack and other videos -- luckily he wasn't soured on the game forever, as he's one of the most delightful-to-watch Mario streamers (and has reliably been cranking out one youtube video per day for a long, long time).

If I remember the lore correctly, it was Panga's blindfolded run of SMB1, combined with the snide dismissive tone taken by the reporter sent to cover the Guinness attempt, that was part of the impetus to the creation of GamesDoneQuick.
