I didn't want to snark out anymore

Guy Raz's beardy stubble talks to Jason Sudeikis' beardy stubble about Sudeikis' career [1h12m], from his early years playing basketball and doing Second City in Vegas and through into developing Ted Lasso. You can see Jason transform between minutes 35 and 38 as they move into taking about Lasso, and his investment in the conversation makes the second half come alive.

I love this interview because it's such an interesting career trajectory to trace (and explains so much about Sudeikis and how he is in the world), but it's also so full of the joy of creating Ted Lasso and how much he wants this to be a thing that really finds resonance, no matter how much he might self-deprecate about it.

My favorite part of this is him talking about a joke based in cynicism/sarcasm making it into the script, on day of sounded like a vibraslap in Mozart. It just didn't fit. I'm enjoying the current season, but I actually have lost most of the threads of the plot, not because anything is necessarily wrong or bad, it's just the space it occupies in my brain is 'vibes only.' I like the setting and the setup. The details don't matter anymore.

I haven’t had time to listen to this yet, but I wanted to call out the short-lived ‘Son of Zorn’, which was surprisingly full of heartwarming moments.

It was pretty weird watching Sudeikis in "Colossal", where his character is very unlike Ted Lasso. Looking forward to watching this video when I've got the time, though. Yay!

I finally had a chance to watch this. Enjoyable, and I am impressed at the level of intentionality in the way the show has been developed.
