Word Solitaire is a browser game by Petri Purho. Clear the board by making five-letter words. "The Dark Souls of solitaire word games."
Hey, it's by the person who made Crayon Physics! I'm glad they're still making fun little games.

That's fun! It seems like there's not just one solution (that I can tell) which I appreciate.

It only sort-of works on iOS, it doesn’t seem to recognized taps very well making for a frustrating experience. It is a shame, because the game itself is fun.

I didn't know 'the Dark Souls of solitaire word games' was something I wanted, but this is both a really hard and lot of fun--thanks for sharing.

I won this on my first try, so I am going to never play again and maintain my 100% win streak

It won't let me play words longer than 5 letters. Hrumph.

It did take me two tries, but I never really looked ahead. It would be more interesting if longer words were allowed (and required). I think someone once showed me a similar game that allowed arbitrary word length, but it had a slightly different card layout (I helped him code up a puzzle generator; there was some constraint that made it non-trivial that I have since forgotten).
I've played harder word games. Montage, for instance, is absolutely brutal. But I guess that's not solitaire.
A Thursday NYT crossword is probably harder.
I've also made harder solitaire word games I think Surfwords is harder, although it's hard to compare since, like Tetris, there's no winning. Semantle is definitely harder. I have been contemplating another word game, which I am tempted to call "A Bionic Caracal Destroys Enemies Fiercely" (or perhaps I should go for the full 26-word version?). Still not 100% sure whether it would end up feeling too much like a SpellTower knock off.

Anybody know if the "solution set" is posted anywhere the day after, for those of us who got our very first game on the very first try, and are now hopelessly unable to solve another one?

There are some quite dubious words allowed.
FARMY? Really? Today's 7:37 feels a bit like cheating now.
I also have occasional success with proper names, as long as I stick to super-white ones.

Contacted the designer - he added "solar" and "sonar," but there is no solution (correct answer to previous day's game) available ever, as of now.
