Good job, that first one, though if I'd been playing that recorder part I'd have let go on the tongue articulation somewhat -- it's okay to let those notes slur into each other a bit.

Rendition #2's vocalist is trying a bit too hard to sound like a child soprano, somewhat to the detriment of consonant articulation.

I see your Medieval Kansas. And I raise you a Middle English Kate Bush!

The tune is simply submile!

Ok but Will Ferrell’s cover from Old School is still my favorite.. You’re my boy blue!

TIL Bardcore is a thing. All I can do is flash back to my late 70's dorm room from which I could not escape my next door mates and their endless repetition of Kansas and Styx interrupted only when they were getting really unmanageably high and inevitably reverted to repeated turns of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

Thanks for this. Even if I get old, "Dust in the Wind" will turn me into a mournful teen, and how much more so with a lute --

TIL that Hildegard Von Blingin is not a typo...

I thought this was going to be Dust in the Wind sung to the tune of a Hildegard Von Bingen piece and I have to admit I am kind of disappointed. It was pretty, though.

In loosely related, there was also the time that Gwar tried to do an ironic piss-take on Kansas, and ended up doing a loving tribute.
