Oh this is verrrry 1985: Charles Durning is Falstaffian in a wig, Ed Begley, Jr., is dorky in a wig, and the colors and low resolution remind me exactly of what TV looked like then.

This one is very 1980: Jeff Goldblum, Dick Butkus, and Meg Foster.

From librivox, here's an audio version of the story I recommend.

While doing kitchen stuff last night, I listened to Go Fact Yourself Ep. 134: Ed Begley, Jr. & GloZell. She was great! But, who knew he was so suave? I didn't. I just thought he was an electric car joke or 3. He also really is the most interesting man in the world.

Ed Begley Jr is probably best known for his time in St. Elsewhere for which he received many accolades. But he's also one of those "oh, it's THAT guy" faces from television across a couple of generations. His TV c.v. on Wikipedia begins with My Three Sons the same year that Sgt Peppers was released, and is a list longer than a CVS receipt. He's worked with basically everyone you can imagine at some point in his life. That he might bicycle to get himself there is really the least interesting thing about him.

My family lived a few miles from Sleepy Hollow and my mom loved to take visitors to tour Washington Irving's house in Tarrytown. The Sleepy Hollow High School Football Team is called The Horsemen, which my memory had as The Headless Horsemen but I'm sure that's what we called them - this was all before the movie (my own school's football team was and still is The Fighting Quakers). I was just wondering the other day if people realize that Sleepy Hollow is an actual town with actual people, and who think about Washington Irving as a really important literary figure (I say that somewhat sarcastically, because I grew up thinking he was, and have since come across people who think he is a made up Hollywood concoction).
