Hundreds of bands you have never heard of...
"San Francisco Public Library’s Bay Beats is a brand-new local music collection that celebrates and supports the Bay Area music community. This online showcase features the exciting musical talent in our own Bay Area backyard."

"Here’s how it works:
♫ Local musicians will have the opportunity to submit a selection of original tracks for inclusion in Bay Beats.
♫ A panel with strong ties to the diverse Bay Area music communities will review submissions and select albums.
♫ If chosen and upon signing a licensing agreement, musicians receive an honorarium payment for their participation.
♫ Anyone looking to delve into the vibrant local music scene can stream music on Bay Beats, while SFPL card holders can download albums.

…And did we mention that this service is all free?"

Evidently, there are like ~20 libraries doing this with the same software/service San Francisco uses. Santa Cruz is using different software.
