While you may know something about the history of nonpareil corn, what does Big Popcorn have to say? People study it, write books about it, and produce documentaries [SLYT] about it. Heck, some folks even grow it at home.

Born in 1907. "Orville" and "Wilbur" were never exactly popular names, but 1907, give or take, was about when their popularity began a quick ascent, reached a peak, and then slowly glided back down to the "Orville" and "Wilbur" levels we all enjoy so much today.

I'm a lifelong popcorn afficianado (analog popper, Jiffy Pop and microwave). Popcorn was the first thing that I "cooked" myself, thanks to my youthful obsession and The Popcorn Book.

Wanted to pop in another YouTube bio of Orville from the Company Man channel.

At a high school sleepover, an Orville Redenbacher commercial was playing on the TV while I'd fallen asleep, whereupon I apparently sat up, said "I love Liberal Orvenvacher," and then lay back down.

Now that's all I think of when I think of microwave popcorn.

What's the deal with the popcorn button? (Hint: Big Popcorn doesn't want you to try it, but you really should.)
