This is a sad occurrence but a good excuse for those who haven't seen "Michael Clayton" to correct that.

There's more than one notable performance in that film but Wilkinson was robbed when he didn't win Best Supporting Actor for his part.

Nthing. You might never believe a movie about lawyers could be as beautiful as Michael Clayton, but if you haven't see it I urge you. Wilkinson's performance is beautiful.

I don't know why I never knew Tom Wilkinson was British. For some reason I thought he was American. Guess that goes to show what a good actor he was.

I came in to mention his turn in Michael Clayton and am glad to see two others have already done so.

He was a master.

Take a look at this brief c.v. on Wikipedia. He was working constantly in both television and film beginning in the Seventies!

I'm glad to have seen so much of his work. He had a range that was broad within the specificness of who he was, which is a very interesting high complement, I hope.

Oh gosh, I was such a fan. I loved him in everything I ever saw him in, which was...a lot. He was so underrated.

For some reason my now-wife showed me "In The Bedroom" while we were dating. Something about the seriousness of Tom Wilkinson's monologues really resonated with her.

He's one of those actors who are so completely capable of encapsulating a part. I loved him in everything I saw him in.

"In the Bedroom" [key scene, major spoilers] was devastating and unforgettable. I had no idea he was British. So much talent, and such a body of work.

analytically, academically, I knew he'd been in a lot, and then I look at the filmography and holy carp he's been in a LOT. LOL I forgot all about Rush Hour.

I didn't realize they had just started a TV series of TFM...

Excellent actor. Nthing Michael Clayton.

That movie features an assassination scene that seemed the most realistic to me out of any assassination scene I've seen in any movie. Totally cold-blooded and businesslike. I figure that's how those types of operatives do their thing in real life when they don't want to be detected. (Not guns-a-blazin'.)
