Lo-fi beats to smash Tokyo to

The Godzilla Meditation Series, lightly animated stills from kaiju movies with ambient music. From Kaijutopia.

I stumbled across this playlist after watching the original Godzilla (1954) and being struck by how melancholy it was, and how surprisingly touched I was by the child choir and "Prayer for Peace." That search popped the intriguingly titled "KIRYU GODZILLA: A Small Measure of Peace - 1 Hour of Falling Snow Meditation and Ambience in Kyoto" and here we are.

Now I've learned there's a whole universe of fandom-themed "ambient ____ to chill to" videos including Jurassic Park rainfall and dinosaur noises, The Shire ambient birdsong, Arrakis (Dune) ambient wind and desert noises, Blade Runner Vangelis-styled ambience, and a lot more out there.

Thank you for these -- I have really enjoyed the rise of lo-fi/ambient videos. I particularly liked both the Shire and the Vangelis videos. If I have anything on in the background during the day, it's often SPACESHIP NOSTROMO SOUNDS.

These are actually...just fine musically, and the extra whimsy of the monsters makes me rather like them. Thanks, Shepherd!

You know, it's been said that history shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men.

Oddly I am the target market for this. Needs Minya though.

I sort of dig this as head-canon for what Godzilla and Co. are doing in between films. Like the films depict the Kaiju in their active states, but for the most part, the Titans are instead frequently in a hibernatory/ torpid condition.

Also explains why the world governments have basically settled into a state of learned helplessness with regards to Kaiju. Kaiju are essentially biological volcanoes- dormant most of the time, and you just need to plan and evacuate the path when they become active.
