vs. Spy is Back in the States: As a follow up to this thread, vs. Spy's semi-reckless trip around the world has ended. He got as far as Bogota. Was anyone else following this? Was this brave, utterly foolhardy, or somewhere in between?

Wha?

I read the previous Metafilter post, this one (duh), and a few pages on the linked-to website. I cannot determine who this individual is, where he went, why (s)he did so, of what significance that it is, or why I should care. The "vs. Spy" website reads like something written by an eager 6th grader with an over-active imagination.

Could somebody outline this in simple terms?

Don't accept cookies from strangers, Ok. I have friends that routinely travel in South Amercian and Asia - this guy is an idiot.

I was drawn by the fantastically bad logic of "I have been dumped, I am not thinking clearly, therefore I will take a trip around the world," and the fact that even after a cooling off period he still thought it was a good idea. Bit of a rubber-necker thing really: part of my checked in on a regular basis waiting for the disastrous end. Which happened (if any of the site is true, natch). Not so much compelling as cringe-making.

His route map is sad/funny. If it is true it will make a great story for the grandkids, assuming the guys who rolled him didn't swing both ways.
