Is Nick Cave was running for President?

Why? I looked at the site, and I still think Nazis are morons.

You fool! Don't you know the First Amendment only protects the speech we agree with!

Don't forget the Nihilist Party, of Southern California. (found yesterday while trying to determine whether there actually existed any serious nihilist philosophers. alas, the answer is no.)

I gotta say, those fascists on Yahoo are profoundly tedious -- what ever happened to the *interesting* fascists? Where's Ezra?

Nor should we forget the Official Monster Raving Loony Party.

He's on a high-horse because he disagrees with you? Your accusation is pointed in the wrong direction, my friend.

Pfft. The concept of hate speech is a crock of $#!t, designed to eliminate lawful, albeit unpopular speech. Which is exactly what needs defense. [insert Voltaire quote here]

(Now comes the part where someone calls me a bigoted anti-semite.)

(Upon further review, I see what you're saying keswick. I don't necessarily agree, but your logic isn't flawed in the way I thought it was.)

"Unpopular Speed" is protected by the Constitution?

heh. nice one, steve.

Thanks for the retraction/clarification, jpolous. You don't see that a lot in these debates.

It should be.

Woah. Can you invoke Godwin's Law if the Nazi reference is in the FPP?

Agreed, but for the record, I included the Nazi link almost as a joke. Can we at least openly mock unpopular speech?

Come now, no one linked to Libertarian National Socialist Green Party?

Looking at the
nazi party new year's message
(which is, of course, outrageous, but one which I'd want protected under free speech were I a yank), I wondered again if anyone knows of some kind of script/ Word macro, that can parse the text and devise some kind of "looniness grading" based on the number of WORDS in CAPITALS. Maybe the loony-spotter script could also weight it by checking for words about timecubes or Princess Diana/ JFK/ Marilyn/ Elvis conspiracy theories and maybe factor in the number of different typefaces, colours etc used in the web page?

If anyone writes one, they could sell it to Google for inclusion in their toolbar, so you could filter search results based on relevance-to-the-real-world.

the script would also need to check for spurious quotation marks, somehow, too, as in
Look folks, I DON'T get a rush EXPOSING these types of "personalities" slithering within our Resistance "movement"...BUT, how in hell can we even PRETEND to be "examples" for our Folk to ADMIRE and EMULATE...IF we are "ACCEPTING" of such behavior... we might as well as come right out and CONDONE IT! AREN'T THE "ACTIVITIES" OF THESE PEOPLE THE VERY SAME THINGS THAT WE CONDEMN IN THE...."You Fill In The Blank"?! All I can say is that I'M not a HYPOCRITE...and that I'M 100% against such un-Aryan "behavior"...and IF YOU'RE NOT, I feel sorry and disgusted for you.
