What's Making Blognews? This little web app scans 600 of the most popular weblogs, and ranks the news stories they're linking to.

I liked this site better when it was called Technorati.

No wait, I mean Blogdex.

No wait, I mean Daypop.

No wait, I mean Beebo Metalog.

Man, that list is depressing. I'm glad I apparently don't read many of the 600 most popular weblogs.

Well, if the person who created it is looking for a name the site, one might consider "RightWingFilter" or "Bubbling Cauldron of Slanted Drivel" or....wait. This is silly. Obviously the algorithm used to cull this list is flawed if all it returns are links from Little Green Footballs...

Its been done. Better.

My question is who reads the 600 most popular blogs? Bloggers themselves or the general public?

Just what we don't need: more of the echo .... *trails off*

Yeah, this is a particularly slanted sampling. Although, to be fair, this story broke my heart. To think that this is happening at least once a day somewhere in this country, so a deserter could play dress up in a flight suit is obscene.
