ColorCell: finding the most popular color combinations.
i like this one.
despite the fact that 90% of the things in my house are green, brown is actually my favorite color - has been ever since i first showed a color preference as a wee baby.

Conceptually, this is fun, although I wish there was a better way to view the cubes for voting - that one big long page makes them all blend together in these old eyes...

They really need to crossbreed on finer-grained attributes, like relative brightness or color difference between adjacent colors, rather than whole colors. The current popular cell is four shades of blue. If it were mutated into a cell with four shades of red, that might be a contender. But to simply take these four coordinated shades of blue and hope that interposing a garish green from another cell will make it more popular is just not likely to work.

Great fun! It's fascinating to see what color combos people prefer. I was actually pretty surprised to see a shades-of-purple cell as the most popular (at this point, anyway); I thought most people weren't too crazy about purple.
On preview, I see gregor-e is calling it "blue". Hmm, it shows up as purple to me on two different monitors. ??

I would prefer the cubes to have more pixels. You can't do a lot with 2x2. If it was 4x4 there would be much more scope for interesting combinations.

oh that's just the idiot homeowners on "changing rooms". the rest of the world loves purple just fine.
i don't see what the big fun is about this colour cell thing... so you pick your faves, then what...? you see what the top colours are... that's all...? it just sort of lays there, really.

Even as a person who dresses mannequins during the day and designs web pages at night... That site is painfully metro.
I love it!
