Professor Irwin Corey, the world's foremost expert on EVERYTHING, has quite a good website. Special highlight for lit geeks: the text of his acceptance speech on behalf of Thomas Pynchon when Gravity's Rainbow received a National Book Award citation, and an audio extract thereof.

He's still alive? I used to see him on talk shows 40 years ago, and I thought he was ancient then . . .

I loved him doing the Julius Sumner Miller type schtick when I was a kid. Good to know he's still knocking around, even though yeah, he must be 120 years old by now.

I remember seeing him do a guest spot in some softcore porn flick about ten years ago. Really messed with my head.

The guy is/was a true character.

Professor Irwin Corey is immortal, duh. It was in the course of discovering the serum that the one experiment turned his hair all freaky like that. Long may he wave.
