certainly interesting, but I feel bad about what we are going to do to the bandwidth of the "ZIMBABWE WOMEN'S RESOURCE CENTRE AND NETWORK"... my guess is they aren't exactly on a huge budget! I know if my non-profit got linked in MeFi it would be a budget issue for us! Just saying....

Nothing worth paying attention to, certainly.

Feel free to beat me on the head with an explanation - but I don't really get the relevance of this.
And why the bananaphone reference?

The good thing about bookends is that they let you know where the beginning and the end are. It's a comforting thing to know.
That, and they stop stuff falling off the shelf. Think where we'd be without the Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre and Network then. The rest of the Internets could end up on the floor.

The last one you could find was ZWRCN? Come on, you're not even trying; there's a Zyzzyva staring you right in the face! And by "face" I mean "google."

... Except that when you order things lexicographically you start at the beginning, not at the end.

Yes, and the beginning of a hostname is the top of the tree, which is the top level domain.

Who cares about the beginning or end? How about the middle?
According to IANA's WHOIS there is no 'X' TLD, so the middle letter is M, and the middle M TLD is Northern Mariana Islands, which is managed by Get MP. And because it's late and I don't care that's as close to the middle as I'm going to get.

jazon, that's a poor way to find the middle TLD. Take the list of the ccTLDs. Add the 11 gTLDs. That's 261 total. The middle one is .kw, Kuwait.

You obviously look for the final TLD first and proceed backwards from there.

I mean, I never, ever in my wildest dreams expected Pretty_Generic, of all Mefites, to post such a lame FPP.
