Westnet - A brand new look, but the same old feel. (The third link appears to be safe for work, but I won't make any guarantees)

I wasn't expecting to get the pumpkin on the goat.cx link.

And I probably shoulda swapped the URLs on those last two links to pack the proper punch. Still, can't help but wonder Westnet's logo designers were tipping their hat to an internet classic, or if it was just a big whoops!

Man. I just closed down my site which I referred to as 'westnet', and hot damn am I glad I did now!

That's gotta be intentional on the graphic designer's part.

If you look hard enough, you can make almost anything look like whatever you want. It just looks like a pretty generic, typically lazy design effort to me. Just like the sort of thing you get when you go to a designer and say "make me a logo, it has to be really cutting edge and all, but I only have $50 to spend".

I used to work for west.net -- inexplicably, but probably inevitably, changed (after I left, of course) by the Powers that Be to siliconbeachwestnet.com, the idiots -- and I really really hated the people from down under who got REALLY mad at us when we said we couldn't help them with their Internet service. So a big goatse logo to you all! :-P

From the website:

"The new logo represents the enormous care that goes into servicing every member."

Bwahahaha!

It's a shame, as it's a gorgeous logo.
