Only nine days left to enter your website in the competition for SXSW 2001. All categories but one are for websites that are newly created in 2000 (the other category is for redesigned/relaunched websites).

I've lived in Austin for almost four years, and this is the first time I'm going to SXSW. Heh, go figure. I entered my weblog in the competition yesterday, and I'm going to work on getting another one of my sites ready before the deadline.

Anyway, it's $15 to enter the website competition. And tickets for SXSW itself are a bit pricey and getting pricier with time, so you might wanna think about buying soon, if you're coming.

I look forward to meeting folks from the weblogging crowd this spring, it should be fun. C'mon down!

Jesus, but John Carpenter looks bad.

Sorry. Continue with Web talk.

I really want to post a couple of sites I have built to the competition, but my VP is a little wary. He thinks that it may put the company in a bad light. I don't think he understands the competition is just a chance for some recognition. I'm trying to come up with some reasoning that will convince him, any thoughts?

I really plan on going, so that's not a concern, but I also really want to enter! I feel like a 5 year old!

As far as weblogs go, are they judging on design skills, or content, or both?

Webboy, I don't know what to tell you. I'm going (for the first time) this year and my work is paying for half.

Of course, my boss also told me, "Jim Beam is one of the main sponsors, so you better go get us their account!"

From the regulations:

By submitting your website to this competition, you become eligible for a special discount registration rate for the SXSW Interactive Festival

Anyone have any idea how discounted? (more than $15?)

I would assume that a good weblog, good enough to win, would have both good design and good content. (Did I use the word 'good' enough in that sentence?)
