Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I just got an anti-gay robot phone call.
No, they're not against gay robots, but maybe you get my gist... Anyhow, a quick Google search on the phrase they kept repeating ("national campaign to stop same sex marriage") revealed that if one were to punch "1" during the call ("if you are against gay marriage, push 1..."), you are taken to a live operator who tells you that AT&T and MCI are kiddie porn providers, and try to sell you a telephone plan with their "Christian" phone service.

Christian phone service? Is that just for priests to get off or can non-believers use it too?

Oh, you mean its not a sex phone service? Then what's the point?

My standard response is that I do not accept any phone solicitations at all. Not from the Handicapped Cousins of Retired Sheriff's or from the Firefighters with Dyslexia Fund.

Wouldn't you be more "gay" if you pushed in #2? Hehehe. Sorry. That was unavoidable.

ereshkigal45: Rollbiz was saying that his previous post was his first post to Metafilter ever, and that it could also be a 'last post' before deletion of a double/triple post, whatever this is.

The fact that this is a double/triple post, FleshJoe, is why people (myself included) are not staying on topic (on preview: see haiku above).

And lo, though Moses did preach his voice unto them from afar, his phone service cost the wages of sin as it had offered partner benefits to its employees. The baby Jesus cried.

cmonkey: I love your graphic.

As for this company, I can't decide how I feel about them.

Positive:
They take money from proven assholes.
Negative:
In doing so, they may increase assholism.

I guess my take on their firm really depends on whether they actually increase assholism, or if they just increase the visibility of it.

Damn funny tho.

I like how child pornography is somehow associated with free speech or rather no filters on your system.

I talked to a guy at a fundy wedding one time (wow. was that ever fun) when asked if he ever gets on the internet said "I would never look at that filth."
I was quite taken aback. Since that question was more a prelude to talking about the hamster dance and other such 'net drolleries and not in fact beastiality, child porn, or in fact any kind of pornography at all. Subjects I tend to shy away from at weddings as a matter of course.

That seems to be the underlying schtick though. Somehow free and open communication leads to the absolute lowest forms of discourse.
