Should Mumbai ban elephants from the city? They're already using microchipped to crack down on "illegal elephants" being used for begging. Is this the next step?

Oh! However did this happen? Weird.

I sure hope no-one else is working on a post about elephants right now... that'd be so strange...

There have been countless incidents of mahouts being charged with begging but they pay the paltry fines and take the animals to beg again some where else.

Four elephants are legally registered in Mumbai, but locals believe up to a dozen could be living in the city.

and they're so easy to hide ...

This is so typically India. They use RFID to track 12 elephants.
