Recent history repeats itself in Pennsylvania

Stop me if you've heard this one before - Republican congressman blames democrats for legal troubles. The house ethics committee didn't see anything wrong with Weldon's activities, but one can't help but wonder how Weldon is helping his constituency by traveling to Belgrade on behalf of one of Slobodan Milosevic's pals, who is, incidentally, a client of Weldon's daughter's consulting firm. At least no one is accusing Weldon of trying to choke his mistress.
Too bad Weldon can't just fire all those pesky people investigating him, like Jerry Lewis (R-CA) did.

To hell with party affiliation. I'm just voting out the incumbents.
Only because it might give democracy a small window of time to heal while K Street courts their new dancing partners and the process begins again.

Hey! I thought there was a rule that posting spoilers in an FPP was bad form. I haven't seen this movie yet.

The Weldon thing looks, on the surface, a bit like the Duke Cunningham debacle.

You know, the fact that there's an athiest billionaire out there makes me feel a bit better. I had sort of gotten the idea that Christians ran the whole kit and kaboodle.

This is like one of those direct-to-video sequels that has a completely different cast playing the same exact characters.

Not unless he also married interracial gay abortionist couples that want to live next to decent God-fearing Christian families and go to their community swimming pools.

I have a theory. My theory is that the Right is trying to lose this election. That way, in 2008, they can blame the last 6 years of disaster on the two years that the Dems run congress, and McCain will sweep the prez elections.

Weldon's my Representative (self link to my personal WeldonFilter). The stink off him is strong, but the local machine is corrupt, and people are too lazy to do anything different. On the plus side, while walking the dog, I'm counting fewer and fewer Weldon signs on lawns.
