Facebook informericial parody This is a pretty hilarious video of Facebook users. Very well done.
Is it sad that I can nod in agreement to most parts of the skit, "Mmm hm, been there, done that"?

Cambridge Facebook video. "I poked her first on Sunday, then she messaged me on Monday, so we slept together — it seemed like the right thing to do."
What it lacks in actual talent, it makes up for in enthusiasm.

What the hell does it mean to "poke" someone anyway?

I really, really don't get these social networking sites. Also, "hooking up" is a dumb expression, particularly as it already has a (non-sexual) meaning. Also also, cut your hair and get off my lawn.

(Oh and after I wanted to bitchslap all 5 of the first 5 people in the video, I closed it. FYI.)

As a recent college graduate, I can say, with earnest, that this is all so very, very true.

Well, there's the VCR too. But "hooking up" used to just mean (and still does, to most people) just meeting. Like, "I'll drop you at the entrance, go park and we'll hook up inside." I never heard any sexual usage until maybe 4 years ago or so.

Dude, Facebook has saved me from a couple instances where pursuing some dude would have been a bad, bad idea. Although, I think most guys might be driven off when they see I'm married to an orthodox Jewish girl.

That's what I'd expect to hear from someone representing THE MAN, particularly A PIG REPRESENTING THE MAN. 'Cause, like, you're TOO SQUARE to have bought any WORKS from A MAN, man (unlike THE MAN, who's too busy living a life trapped inside A BOX)...otherwise, you'd know HOOKING UP a HORSE or any other JUNK into your veins is a downright ORGASMIC EXPERIENCE. I'd loan you my copy of Burroughs so you'd UNDERSTAND, but THE BOOK JUST MELTED IN MY HANDS.

so, cynically, what we really learn from this, the PC vs Mac parodies (and otehrs) is either:
1. the buy-in price to make professional looking product is now ridiculously low.
2. the white cyclorama aesthetic is now entirely played out and needs to be put on the shelf for a few years.

The part with the two guys was pretty true. It's amazing how many people think they're being hilarious and original by listing themselves as married to their friends.

I'm surprised that was very good, especially from a college's tv variety show.
