Single link blah blah. Any description I tried to come up with was stupid. I love the album art and the stories of where the guy finds these recordings.

Why the fuck are you apologizing for a single link as wonderful as this? Jesus. This is great. Thanks.

Great link. I'm gonna be spending some time there.

Here's kinda the same thing, but all about Brazilian music - previously disussed here.

Please don't cry, these are amazing. I only hope that I can get them onto the computer before the whole thing goes under. Thanks for posting this.

mediareport, I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not, cuz your first link goes to what I would consider to be NOT the best tune I've heard on the site, and your second link goes to a song that's quite interesting, musically.

[NOT SARCASTIST]

Seriously, check the rapping in the 2nd half of that first tune, and the fun vocal snippets throughout. It's great. And the 2nd tune is just plain amazing - a strangely tight, angular but laid-back groove. I loved 'em both.

blogspot has been uncommonly farty lately... wonder what's going on.

this is a fantastic find!

The sidebar links are worth exploring, too - I had no idea there was a little scene of cassette preservers mining Dalston charity shops or posting demos and home recordings.

Just stopped in, RTR, to thank you again for this post. This is a goldmine!
posted by flapjax at midnite at 2:49 AM on May 16, 2007

And seconding what jack_mo said about those sidebar links. One goldmine leads to another!

Wow. Thanks for this.

Anyone into this sort of stuff should should keep an eye on buda records.

Also, keep an ear out for Charlie Gillert's "World of Music" on the BBC World Service. It's a bit more "worldy" (there was an a amazing myspace based episode a few weeks back) but the urban African stuff he reguarly features is often amazing.

Hello,

I'm the guy (parrot) in charge of Loronix, the Brazilian music website you have been discussing here. Thanks for feedback and do not hesitate to get in touch anytime.

Regards, zecalouro

PS.: do not miss Find It, which is a search tool for Loronix discography

Hey, interesting blog zecalouro, missed it before. A quick and important note to you though. You cannot post now because there's a grace period before you can make one. Once this period is up, you would, theoretically, be able to post your own site, BUT, it would contravene the "no self link" guidelines, the post would be deleted and you would be banned from the site immediately.

Even if it didn't, as roll truck roll points out above, its been posted before and double posts are deleted too.

Hey, it is now clear, I made my homework reading About Section and everything associated with posting rules, etc. You are right, the self link guideline is really necessary to keep things great here as usual. zeca

Hey Roll Truck Roll, English is not my mother language and sometimes I make terrible things. But I did not see any kind of issue with what you said before. Anyway, I'm glad that people from Metafilter are having fun @ Loronix. cheers, zeca
