That is simply mezmorizing. I'm awash with nervous laughter.

This..this is exactly what it claimed to be. Huh. There's some feeling of awesome in having something deliver EXACTLY what is promised.

Then again, this feeling of awesome might just come from the fact that I watch several slow motion punches to the face. That kind of ruled.

I think the real lesson here is that cascading water droplets really, really fuck your mov compression.

Boot Sock to the head!
High speed camerawork is always fun to watch, especially when it exposes weird phenomena which isn't apparent to the naked eye. In this case I didn't expect *that* much facial deformation, no matter how momentary it was. Makes me wish Ali/Foreman was captured using high-speed film.

From Action Figure's news page:

"Action Figure accomplice and buddy Cory Kilduff, the TX half of the dirty disco/house/electro duo Ocelot took the recently acquired footage of the AF crew punching each other in the face at 1000 frames per second and repurposed it to his remix of the Robyn track 'Be Mine'."

Just adding to the chorus of "OMG THAT IS JUST SO DAMNED COOL."

Also, "Thanks for showing us something that delivered exactly as promised."

Could we somehow combine this with the "nerd hipster" thread? Thanks.

I feel like sending the Action Figures a Thank You card.

I am especially grateful that they provided easily downloadable video files. They now reside in a folder labeled "Happy Time," which I will access whenever my day is not happy enough.

I also enjoyed the "epic" tag, because it reminded me of the Faith No More video that also featured boxing gloves and slow motion.

Having personally delivered and received cheerfully drunken punches to the face amongst guy friends, I am surprised yet glad that there were women willing and curious enough to find out what getting rocked in the snot locker actually feels like. I don't encourage it, but cannot help but approve. Thank you, ladies, it was inspiring.

There are just so many people to thank. I feel like I won an award or something.

Dude!

I mean, holy ... Dude!

I'm still having a hard time figuring out what is so catastrophically, outrageously, splendiferously awesome about this. But I'm saving a local copy for posterity.

Thank you.

For anyone who owns the movie Dodgeball, have a look at the special features... there's a great segment on the technique of filming no-flinch shots to the face again, and again, and again. Any flinching totally ruins the humor - tough stuff!

My theory is that occupying the punchee with some distraction task helped them... I wonder how many takes they had in them?

I just got back from seeing Iron Man, and this is better. This is the future of entertainment. I'm sorry that these people will all probably develop neurological disorders as a result of this, probably up to and including Parkinsons. It's dumb enough to mess with the inside of your head (drugs), but it's really stupid to subject the exterior to sudden jarring. Still, wow, I was riveted to every flying droplet.

At 1000 frames per second, they would have needed crazy bright lights to illuminate the subject. Imagine staring into a blinding spotlight and pretending you weren't about to get punched in the head. Smile!
