Windosill New mac/pc downloadable flash thingy from Vectorpark. Free first half, $3 for the rest.

Vectorpark previously [1] [2] [3].

Incidentally, if you haven't seen it since it was first posted here, the Feed the Head thing has been expanded somewhat. You'll know you've gotten to the end when the head disintegrates into a bunch of vector bird/fish things.

I have to admit that I don't understand what, if anything, I'm supposed to do, other than click on stuff to be very mildly amused by the animations that result. Games that don't involve running around and shooting things confuse and scare me.

It's about discovering which things to click in what order to make it show amusing animations it hasn't already shown you. That's about it.

Oh, and sometimes it involves click & dragging or click & hold down the mouse button.

This appears to be all of the work of Crimson Room with none of the payoff... Interesting.

thanks juv3nal, this is fantastic. I love this persons work. Made it
through a couple of windowsills. but i seem to be stuck.. it has such a quiet surreal feel to it.
beautiful!

I'll have to tell my son Feed the Head is updated, he loves that thing. That said, I don't understand why I'd have to download a Flash game and why such a Flash game would only work on Mac or "PC" (by which I assume both you and they mean "Windows").

Hell yes. Purchased, sight-unseen. I didn't realize Vector Park were still around; three bucks is peanuts if it keeps them making weird things.

I would assume because it's not actually done in flash. It is possible to do vector graphics without it. Or, it could be written as an application that calls flash for it's rendering.

Uses shockwave player. The key is finding the little cubes to open the doors. Haven't found the one at the bird house.

Upon start up, it complains that it cannot contact the server.

Triple Fail.

(1) Yet another game/application that is needlessly phoning home to a server. Especially aggravating when they explicitly created a standalone executable.

(2) Yet another game/application that doesn't understand proxies. (That's why the contact fails on my computer.)

(3) The status page it directs you to is a static blog page that says "Hey, send me an email!"

I love Patrick's work. This is something I've been waiting for. Very cool.

I don't want to see it at my windowsill.

OK so the other day i was watching my 8 month old niece play with a bunch of toys she had, most of which were those big boards with blinking lights, knobs, cranking things and sliders that made fun noises. None of the boards made much sense and could be seen as surreal and even artistic in some way...

It made me realize how much of the internet's technology (especially Flash) has just broadened the basic juvenile appeal of these toys, in the guise of sophisticated and artful adult puzzles. Trickery!

Face it, amusing yourself with these pointless (read: objective-less) flash art doodads is merely an extension of that thing that you've been doing since you were 8 months old.

And while you're at it, get off my lawn.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

This is basically a really creative and pretty adventure game. I'm considering buying it.

Also, how did they do all that 3D stuff in Flash?!

I don't think it's a "they". I think it's all done by Patrick Smith.
He has made lots of great artwork.

Yep. I will be buying that. Thanks!

The Mac one is packaged in a .dmg disk image, which is common in the Mac world but I don't think opens easily on a PC.
