Vector Park Fun, rewarding, nice way to spend some time. "Levers" (lower left image) is a challenge, "Park" (lower right image) has plenty of nice surprises. [Flash reqired. Seen on usr\bin\girl & k10k]

When I say "rewarding" I mean visually rewarding - the thing around the next corner is a nice surprise.

Oh... my... God... That is what Flash is for. Things like this and nosepilot more than balance out Hyakugojyuuichi and other annoying crap. I was about to use the word pointless, but I'm sure someone will point out that this, too, is pointless. But at least it's beautifully pointless!

levers is really fun... i'm adding that to my list of things to do while procrastinating...

If you liked that site you will love Dancingpaul.com

I'm sure everyone's seen this already, but here's one of my favourites pieces of Flash: Modern Living.

Well, I looked at DancingPaul. Sorry to sound finicky here, but I just don't think it's on par with Vector Park or nosepilot. The Flash is good, but the cut-outs are terrible - lots of artifacts and bits of background color around the people. What I love about Vector Park and nosepilot is the grace, the mystery, the sheer other-worldliness. DancingPaul is just pictures of some weirdos dancing. Well done, but just not as good.

Must say I'm loving the Hell out of Modern Living, thanks chrismear.

I can't get past eight objects in Levers. What a beautiful balancing act.

Oh yeah! I'm a huge fan of Modern Living. I can't quite put my finger on why, but one of my favorite animations is #74.

The author was interviewed recently... and I can't find the link! Dang...

waxpancake, the trick is figuring out what to do with eight objects when there appears to only be seven places to put them.

I got it, thanks. Man, that's a great site. The Park reminds me of Chris Ware.

Modern Living #76 is the scariest thing I've ever seen. I fear for my life.

yesterday my snowman melted, today he will not. somebody help me! i want to go further than i am now.

to bad this post is a day old and noone will ever see it......

I see it, but I'm too dumb to know what to do when all I have left is a snowman hat, so I guess I'm not really the kind of respondent you're looking for. Alas. (I think that patience is the key to snowman-melting.)

Hint: I don't think you can "win" without melting the snowman.

I can't get the frigging Zeus head to balance. Arrrgh! What a beautiful little toy this site is!

The snowperson is melted with the big rock. When the rock is out of the water, it gets hot - you can see the "heat circle" growing around the rock (I can see it and I've got the world's worst monitor) and when it hits the snowperson, it starts melting. To speed up the process, take everything off the hooks, hang the snowperson and the rock next to each other and melt that bad boy!

Now, if someone would get me past having this big ole' Zeus head and no place to hang it, instead of hinting around the solution, I'd be much obliged.

if someone would get me past having this big ole' Zeus head

Put an email address in your profile, and I'll tell you what to do. Alternately, you could just email me, 'cause I've got one in mine. In any case, it seems like going beyond hinting would be a mean thing to do right in the thread.

Boy, I feel silly for having failed to notice the rock/melting correlation. though.

Put an email address in your profile, and I'll tell you what to do...

...now that I know, that is. You may have noticed that a few comments ago I couldn't figure it out -- I'm happy to share my newfound knowledge!

Ok, I'm the one who posted this damn thing and I can't even get the things to balance... I spent most of my time on the Park. Everyone did get to see the Park, right, the actual part with the gondola riding the cable over an island of cool things, right? If not, I invite you to spend a little more time poking around.

If anyone knows of any other incredibly inventive Flash projects like this, please pass them on.
