Sly like a fox

Friday Flash Fun: William and Sly is a relaxing and fun side-scoller, reminiscent of Knytt and other recent "atmospheric" flash games. You play as Sly, the pet fox of William, and the game involves exploring the mountains and forests around William's house.
I like this. It looks fantastic, and running around as that fox is great.
But I don't understand why the fox's owner is some runestone-collecting hipster.

A couple of nits to pick with this:
1) If you want to do everything, you have to plan stuff out a bit. The charge you get from unlocking a stone is time limited you have to know where the nearest bad guy is beforehand because it'll dissipate harmlessly after a while and you only get one shot with each stone unlock.
2) I played this a while back on newgrounds, and as far as I could recall, there was no save(?). Is there one now?
The platforming mechanics are well done though.

I played this a while back, and I have two major criticisms:
1) Why withhold the map at all?
2) The end made me feel like someone kicked me in the junk after an hour of sensual massage. So much worse, really, than if someone just kicks you in the junk right off.

This is quite nice. However, I'm supposed to have been doing the housework for the last hour.
