Actually, this thing is great. It seems like all house parties these days end up with at least a couple of hours of a free-for-all youtube DJing, and previously that's involved a little bit of nifty window swapping in order to "mix" from one tune to another.

You can pull up the same video twice - say, the badger one - and play them offset a little and get a nice, seizure-inducing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" kind of thing going.

what?

This needs a pair of turntables, as well. I guess you could play with the seekbars, but it can't scratch, and where's the human touch there?

Does anyone else find it a little ironic that Where It's At has embedding disallowed and won't work with the site?
posted by Rhomboid at 12:53 PM on November 10, 2009

I have a machine at my house that does this. Sometimes, I take my machine somewhere, hook it up to a couple other machines and make people watch.

However, I don't have a PARTY button. Where can I get one? My life will not be complete unless I can push a button that spontaneously causes small woodland creatures to joyously boogie all around me with wild and reckless abandon while I mix, crossfade, and noodle about. I mean, there is a goddamn breakdancing hedgehog. CHAINLESS.

posted by boo_radley at 12:58 PM on November 10, 2009

It doesn't do what it says on the tin. I thought it was going to visually layer the two videos and allow crossfading between them, not just the audio tracks. Meh!
posted by oulipian at 1:09 PM on November 10, 2009

You're reading the tin incorrectly.
posted by boo_radley at 1:18 PM on November 10, 2009

I do not understand why they stopped at two videos and one crossfader, aside from the n^2 problem.

What would one call an n-way crossfader?

posted by unmake at 4:05 PM on November 10, 2009

That is fun shit.
Some of you are mixing some weird shit too. Earbucket, that works really well. Gotta say.

But it lead me to the creator, Ha 'greetings trainspotters', jake elliott's site.

That was even more interesting.

A hella post, I may add. Cheers.

C# maj + Bb min
D maj + B min <>Eb maj + C min
E maj + C# min
F maj + D min (includes nifty animation of Bach Toccata and Fugue)
F# maj + Eb min
G maj + E min Disturbing/Hilarious
Ab maj + F min
A maj + F# min (rock out)
Bb maj + G min
B maj + Ab min

Yes. But: "some girl"!?

That, it turns out, is Julia Nunes, who also does Accidentally In Love, Survivor and Mr. Brightside on ukulele (and the occasional overrated song as well), and is thus clearly awesome.
