The last, bleak shot of Laios looking at the skull was very impactful.

In his episode breakdown, Swamp Jawn notes that is a Trigger adaption, as Kui went with a more classic Yorick style pose in the manga. The choice of the shot of Laios' eyes through the empty orbits of Falin's skull is meant to convey his terror and pain, and boy does it ever deliver, showing why Trigger is another of the top studios.

It's a library that doesn't raise eyebrows for SSHD to load (compression of data in transit? or something).

This hits harder than I thought. I've read and loved almost every fiction work that he ever published except for Grimm's World, from "Apartness" through "The Children of the Sky". Reading "True Names" in high school was formative, "A Fire Upon the Deep" absolutely captured me, and the Tines still have a special place in my brain. May he be long remembered.

And, wow the flerkin' evacuation scene might be the funniest thing I've seen in a Marvel movie. I don't know if this is Jackson's last Marvel movie, but this crazy hilarious no-time-to-explain-just-feed-everybody-to-the-space-monsters scheme to evacuate his people from a space station would be a pretty high note for Fury to go out on.

I saw this movie with nine other people and not a one of them laughed at the Flerkin evacuation scene. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? I died. It was brilliant. "LET THE FLERKIN EAT YOU," while "Memory" plays? THE BEST. I have no idea how Goose got pregnant and laid a bunch of brain eggs, but cats are weird.
