Daily Science Fiction: Original Science Fiction and Fantasy every weekday. Welcome to Daily Science Fiction, an online magazine of science fiction short stories. We publish "science fiction" in the broad sense of the word: This includes sci-fi, fantasy, slipstream—whatever you'd likely find in the science fiction section of your local bookstore. Our stories are mostly short short fiction each Monday through Thursday, hopefully the right length to read on a coffee break, over lunch, or as a bedtime tale. Friday's weekend stories are longer.

TIL the term "slipstream." It's always nice to discover there's a word for something you like.

I swear "Where can I discover new science fiction to read?" was a question I was planning to Ask Metafilter today.

Thanks for using the MeFi Time Machine to save me from asking that question, so I will have it left over, so I will then NOT eat the bad leftovers in my fridge later this week, thereby saving my life.

(President Lincoln thanks you too. But I can't tell you why yet.)

Thank Doug over at the Terry Brooks Forum for finding this and posting it there. Thank the internet for it's contagious behaviour. Thank Matt for creating Metafilter.

DSF is solid and it's nice to start the day with a quick read in your inbox. I've published one story with them and have another on the way. They rates are great too, for anyone thinking of submitting.

This is so cool and I love how the stories are sorted by category so I can finally read about disasters to my heart's content

Why do you not have an RSS feed, Daily Science Fiction? I don't need more email but I'd love to subscribe to your feed. Sigh.

MetaFilter... it is in your best interests to remain still. Very, very still.

FWIW Daily Science Fiction is a qualified market for SFWA membership. They pay 8¢ a word.

Zombie-Dickens will be pleased to hear about this.

This only does the most recent 5 entries (which isn't so bad give that the page on which it's based only has 6) and it'll die if it goes unused for 30 days, but...

Yay! I wanted to post about them, but they've published several of my stories, and I was afraid it would count as a self-link.

They are my most consistently-read e-zine because they send each individual story to my inbox without me having to actually go to my bookmarks and do all that onerous clicking. :-D

Cool link, thanks! For anyone who is interested, Clarkesworld is a pretty cool free semiprofessional science fiction website.
