Snakes on a Cartesian Plane is a collection of delightful variants on the classic Snake game. "The Viper is the Derek Zoolander of snakes." (SLFlashGame)

More like Snakes on a Torus.

More like Snakes on a Torus.

Yeah, the first time I hit the wall and wrapped around I was like "Oh, he went with the controversial torus variant, I see."

Not the low budget Snakes on a Taurus (SLOnionVideo), then?

I just got one dot away from clearing what I needed to on Mamushi. Damned snake!

Great! I've been waiting for a reason to post this strange little number.

Ouroboros is the most elegant variation on Snake I have ever played.

I can also thank the OP for helping me learn a little bit about myself today, since apparently I now have an opinion on the elegance of Snake variations

1. Download and extract "swear.zip" from http://users.abo.fi/dagren/stuff/
2. Do whatever it takes to make it work on your computer. For MS Windows users this is as simple as also downloading and extracting alleg40.dll from "alleg40.zip" from the same location into your folder. For other operating systems you may need to use an emulator or compile it with the corresponding allegro library.
3. Play.
4. Invent new swear words.
5. Get a bad case of RSI.

That is all. You are welcome.

How is this supposed to work? It says "press space" but when I do, all I see is the browser scroll down to the bottom of the page.

dfriedman: Click inside the game area first. That will cause keypresses to go to the game instead of your browser.

I understand that "snakes on a genus one 2-manifold" lacks a certain je ne sais quoi, but yeah the surprise torus chokes the pun.

In fact, the developer should've rescued his usage of "plane" by making it a projective plane, heck Snakes on a Projective Plane is way funnier anyways.

Here is Stephen's own brilliant take on the theme.

I'd like to see Snakes on a Hyperbolic Plane, myself.

(SPOILER ABOUT A JOKE SNAKE, IF YOU REALLY CARE ABOUT THAT SORT OF THING)
Also, I don't know when this was released, but this seems like it's a little late in the game to drop an ice burn on indie darling Passage

The sea snake level is more of a cylinder.

The Glorious Trainwrecks Pirate Kart V, the game jam for which Netgrind originally developed these Snake variants, contains no less than fifteen Passage parodies.

Disclaimer: I have a few half-arsed games in the Kart, including a Passage parody of my own.

I played Snake a few times on my dumbphone, but my favorite is still Rattler Race.

My favorite is the one in FastTracker 2. Man I sure played that a lot. This one was fun and had some neat ideas and some bad ideas but it didn't matter that they were bad because you only had to play those for 15 points.

sup noyb... good to see other trainwreckers here.

I don't really want to derail this too much with talk of the latest in Passatire but Passagebalt is a little fantastic.
