I was surprised to see that the pig's still got all four legs; you don't eat a pig like that all at once.

This is what one must do when lacking opposable thumbs - or fingers - and having no desire to bite. One must breast one's goat when saving it from drowning.

But man, the way that little piggy booked towards the crying goat (while the jerk with the camera just stood there) made me embarrassingly emotional as well. If it were Disney or Pixar, I would have said, "too cloying!"

HAHA that rat article, oh how I laughed when it came out, at the stark glaring evidence that I truly have less compassion than a rat. If one of my friends or coworkers was stuck in a small lucite box I would hungrily devour all the donuts before their weeping eyes and chortle with malicious glee for at least 30 minutes before reluctantly freeing them.

(donuts because i do not particularly like chocolate)

We gotta pull out Occoms Razer for this. Is a petting zoo going to purposly strand a goat in water every day, and then train a pig to go rescue it, and not advertise? Also: how would you even train a pig? The whole idea of contriving small animals to be in peril and rescue themselves as a spectacle seems too complicated and beyond the expertise of a run of the mill petting zoo. This is a petting zoo you'd find in a Chuck Palahniuk novel, is what I'm saying. There's obviously some baby-goat fight club happening. Blood in the Koi Pond.

I like the guy who start off be announcing "goat in the water." It has the practiced calm of someone who has been in this situation before combined with the nonchalance of someone who is not planning to do a damn thing about it.

I'd like to imagine he's a malicious caretaker at a school for especially dumb baby goats.

I don't understand all the hate in the YT comments for the guy who called out about the goat being in the water.

At a petting zoo there would be a staff member right on hand, whose job it would be to take care of the animals, ensure their - and the kids' - safety. Had the staff person not helped, then I could imagine a visitor wading into the pond.

I like the way he says, "And there he is. The hero pig."
posted by nickyskye at 2:15 PM on September 21, 2012 [2 favorites]

yea, I thought he was saying "goat in the water" to get a staff person to come over and help. He was probably with his kids (haha, children). And the goat could have kicked him in the head or something.

He could have said, "Kid in the water", lol, and then the staff might have come running.
posted by nickyskye at 3:00 PM on September 21, 2012 [2 favorites]

I should say that I'm guessing the guy isn't a malicious staff member at SpEd School for goats, he's probably doing the right thing. I choose to believe that he's the former because it's more interesting and I am in charge of which reality I inhabit.

I'm also a little drunk.
