Greenboy: Prescription for Death is a purported lost Dragnet episode made by writers from Mr Show and Mystery Science Theater. It uses technology first seen in Forest Gump to digitally add actors into the psychedelic "Blueboy" episode of Dragnet 1967. The result is a hilarious story of bad cops chasing after Greenboy, the pusher of a dangerous strain of medical marijuana called Larry in the Sky with Diamonds. (NSFW due to language).

I LOVE the "Blue Boy" episode of Dragnet. "I'm on the train! I'm on the train! I'm on the train! WHOOOOOOAAAAAOOOW!" LSD was STILL LEGAL when that was made, they even mention it.

Good thing they included several 4:20 jokes so my otherwise out-of-touch grandmother will have something to laugh about.

The story you are about to see is TRUE. The names have been changed to protect the INNOCENT.

When I was in college a friend had the Blue Boy episode on VHS. It made for some highly medicated good times.

We didn't have buds back then, says the historian who was there AND remembers.

The high guy isn't Chris Elliot. Now, watch it again and try not to see it.

The "Beatnik" actor with his fake beard REALLY reminds me of this character from another hillarious "scared straight" work from the same era.*

*See also the companion film!

I can see a flaw in your initial statement here in that if you can remember the period, you clearly did not have access to the buds, but that does not exclude them from the realm of possibility.

Chris Fairbanks's comedy album is worth your time and consideration.

It's relatively harmless. And that's what makes it so dangerous!

The voiceover at the end sounds like Dave Thomas. Regardless of whether or not it was, this is awesome.

I always joke about making a big chart of the comedian relationships between television shows that I like, all the way from Mr. Show to Adventure Time. Ron Lynch and Tom Kenny would form, like, the trunk of the tree. Maybe John Benjamin would have a big branch. They are in everything.

I would happily listen to Chris Fairbanks read the phonebook, because of all the hilarious ways he would fuck it up.
