Tubism combines the London Tube (or metro map of choice) with any imaginable topic: wine, LGBT celebrities, or songs about Paris. "Tubists may create aesthetic experiences, but presenting information in unexpected ways is usually a higher priority."

As a fan of the Tube map from when I first saw them as a kid, this is wonderful -- thanks for posting it!

Perhaps the best defense for the existence of the Tuba, as well.

Now that I know the meme, it seems Buzzfeed did it in March, Pinterest has a tubism page, and a CSS tube map was here in the blue. Still, one can never have too many pretty maps (in my opinion). Oh, don't forget the wonderful live transit maps recently discussed here and here.

This is damned interesting. It's as if Phenomenology and Semiotics had a baby.

This seems like a perfect fit for a map of interconnected historical events. History is too non-linear for a flowchart, and too complex to be accurately described by a timeline. I could see something like that as a companion piece for James Burke's Connections series, as well as his web-oriented project, the Knowledge Web.

I was expecting a web site where you enter the text and it generates a tube map for you. That would be much cooler.

Ugh. Axe: sticking its dick-nose into everything and instantly turning it into a Fratty Rape Party.
