Dammit, I really want someone to make "Oh Bother, Where Art Thou?" come to life. Like, soon.

Many of the drawings are better than the original movies.

Day 15 would have been quite interesting if they'd dropped both the 'P' and the 'E'.

I would see most of those movies, and probably enjoy them more. As long as they were made by the same director and cast.

Why has nobody made Harry Otter yet?

I'd love to have the "guess the title from the drawing" version of this.

What's the last one ("30") a typo of?

small_ruminant: that took me a second. I'm guessing "300".

Are these typos? I seem to recall a thread where folks came up with new movie names by dropping one letter of the title.

The sketches are terrific.

I wouldn't be surprised if a movie by that name has already been made, but "Harry" is spelled differently and we're talking about a completely different type of wand.

And their incantations use markedly different Latin phrases.

Just in time for Christmas, too -- Harry Otter's Jug Band.

And "O Bother Where Art Thou" needs to happen

Metafilter: It's pretty much the same movie, just with more sick tattoos.

Nobody's made a feature-length film, I assume, but that hasn't stopped people from making T-shirts and other items; you can buy them in my town during the tourist season and I presume we're not the only place of which that's true because the shirts don't look to be the work of any of our local designers.

Presumably his nemesis would be Vole-mort.

I think of myself more as an auteur than as autre, but as an outré loutre most of all.

You may be thinking of Book Titles with One Letter Missing, previously on MetaFiler.

I loved that thread! But this was a reddit thread. Ah, here it is.

They are all better than the originals. Yes, including that one. Also that one.

Hey The otter lady! (I see you have favorited my comment so I know you're here.) I should perhaps mention that I totally stole your quote and used it as a motto for several lectures and presentations I gave on animal philosophy, in which I tried to enquire how understanding the lifel-worlds of different species could enrich, dislocate and dishabituate common philosophical issues. They take the form of short fable-like stories, such as the anthropological mole and the concept of material culture, the leaf insect and certain mental disorders related to embodiment, rats and writing fiction, what the vampire squid would think of human philosophy, and the like.

"'Humanity'.—We do not regard the animals as moral beings. But do you suppose the animals regard us as moral beings?—An animal which could speak said: 'Humanity is a prejudice of which we animals at least are free.'" -Friedrich Nietzsche

But... why is Obocop part robot?
posted by ODiV at 11:13 AM on November 6, 2014

why is Obocop part robot?

Because the cop-oboe interface is a tricky one, and can only really be mediated through the intervention of military-grade cybernetics. For that matter, the oboists of most major symphony orchestras (and a surprising and increasing number of high school and college marching bands) are more silicon-based than is readily apparent.

Hmm. Daily drawing, popular culture, mangled words.

Where have I come across that combination before?

What? No "Forrest Gum"?
No "Lord of the Rigs"?
No "Silence of the Labs"?
No "WALL-"?
No "Das Bot"?
No "Tax Driver"?
No "Roundhog Day"?
No "Full Meal Jacket"?
No "Monty Python and the Holy Rail"? or "Life of Bran"?
No "The Bi Lebowski"?
No "Be Hur"?
Not even "Aws"?

This needs to be an ongoing thing... I'll give him to next October.

(and no, "Baman and Piderman" don't count)
