Every single terrible hat Rory and Lorelai wore on "Gilmore Girls" (note: is in fact every hat, terrible or no)

I can't believe someone went through the trouble to create these fake episodes and incredibly realistic hats. Seriously, I can't even tell if some one these episodes aren't 100% real.

Aaaah, I had that "Rory's golf hat" tam when I was a baby. My mom kept it and gave it to me when I had kids but I've never felt I could inflict it on another human being. Seriously, same exact hat.

So many hats. The ladies should have taken their cue from Luke, who found his terrible hat style right away and stuck with it, come hell or receding hairline.

Vital, necessary work here. Give them a Pulitzer.

I never understood how Rory and Lorelai could have that many winter hats until I moved to Canada. They just seem to multiply somehow.

This was awesome. Thank you. (We are slowly rewatching the series at our house and are only in season 2 so far.)

Two hats you definitely bought from the Gap in 2002.

I literally have a winter cap inside the left pocket of all of my jackets, one always in my EDC (regardless of weather), and one on top of the shoe rack for some reason. And it's only winter here 4 months of the year.

Lane's double pom-pom cap.

I will immediately propose to the next woman I see that wears that hat unironically.

Honestly surprised there aren't more.

*snort* I love the tag "parisoverachievesagain". Hers really was an amazing paper hat.

And if you take up knitting, it only gets worse. It's at the point where I'm glad I live somewhere that's cold enough for hats at least 6 months of the year, because there are so many patterns I want to try.

I'm surprised how cute many of these hats are. But there are some real doozies in there, too. I think the weird pink and blue Frankenhat (6/13) is the worst, followed closely by the white newsboy cap (4/11).

It feels strange that this article doesn't mention that Amy Sherman-Palladino is well known for her love of strange hats.

As a hat-wearing person, I am disappointed in the underlying framing that all hats are inherently bad.

This is why we can't have nice things.

The Internet has spoiled me apparently because it's not enough for me to get a comprehensive viewing of all of these hats, I also demand that whomever is running that content farm to RANK THEM so that I can tell them how right or wrong their opinions are.

My family is moving to Canada (probably) next year, and on the outside I'm all "yes, closer to my husband's family, spider free childhood for the children" but on the inside, I'm "it's all about the knitting!". Wheeee!

There were SEVEN seasons of that show?!

Yes, and they were just re-screened on tv here and I was eagerly watching all through season 7, having scorned it previously, and I was so keen to finally see what happened, and something must have come up because yet again, I missed the final episode.

My wife and daughter are watching the entire series. So. Many. Words.

yet again, I missed the final episode

The whole series is streaming on Netflix (in the US anyway).

I was hasty, and should have specified: deadly spider free childhood. We're moving to the area where my husband grew up, a bucolic wonderland with no poisonous snakes or spiders, from Australia.

You only need one hat, as per Jane.
