"I have a crazy laugh."

2016 sucked for most of us, for many reasons, but there was one thing that consistently made me laugh or smile, no matter how bad things were:

Amy Poehler's Laugh Is The Best Laugh

Amy Poehler Laugh Tribute

Both contain scenes from Parks and Recreation blooper reel laughs

She can do no wrong. She gets a free pass for life. (Well, within reason of course). But for reals.

now that I think of it, Mouse Rat's The Pit would be a rather apt theme song for 2016

Wow, I needed that after the baby in the bag story.

2016 has not had enough Amy Poehler on my teevee.

"I was in the pit
You were in the pit
We all were in the pit"

Yep, that checks out.

So everyone can listen to it over and over, like I am:

Now I really, really, really want Amy Poehler and Gillian Anderson to do something together just for the blooper reels.

It's one of those laughs and that just holds nothing back.

Anderson and Poehler together is one of those things I never realized I needed but now crave desperately.

Okay, here's my pitch. Gillian was Amy's fun aunt growing up, the one who took her side when Uptight Mom Just Didn't Understand. Gillian would always take Amy off on these fun adventures. Maybe Aunt Gillian's an ex-spy (or Amy believes she is, anyway.) Aunt Gillian shows up just as Amy gets laid off from Dumb Day Job, and convinces her to go on one last adventure. But it turns out that Gillian is dying and this is either something on her bucket list or some spy thing that has to be cleared up before she dies but her spy bosses don't believe her and won't give her any support. Either way, it's a dark comedy with lots of laughing and hijinx. In the end, Amy learns to appreciate Dull Responsible Mom, but still tries to get her to laugh more.

Would the world end if Amy met Doug Collins?

Gillian and Amy are only ten years apart in age, it doesn't have to be an aunt-and-niece story. More plausible to be buddies or co-workers of some kind.

Oooh that means that you could throw Tina Fey in for the straight woman

To be frank, I miss the Knope flavoured future.

Works for me.

To be frank, I miss the Knope flavoured future.

We need it now more than ever.

Scruss, Can I just thank you for getting me out of every shabby Monday morning I will never again have?

To be frank, I miss the Knope flavoured future.

Eh, I don't know. I really enjoyed the show but as I rewatch it I begin to be less comfortable with the low representation of people of color, as well as the jibes at fat/rural people all the time. I guess I'm ready for the next and better thing.

I'd argue that 2.0 was this year's DNC.

When Pixar announced Inside/Out as "Untitled Amy Poehler Project" I'd hoped it would be a sequel to Up where Amy's character in The Mighty B was in a rival scout gang to Russell and they were working together on a scavenger hunt or something. Alas.

Even better is finding out that Ron Swanson's distinctly un-macho falsetto suppressed giggle is Nick Offerman's actual laugh <3 <3 <3

Wrong. Nick Offerman's laugh is the best laugh.

:D Ahhhh, thanks for posting, this is great. I am the luckiest woman in the world, in that I am only at the end of season 4 of P&R and have another three seasons still to watch, first time round. I've made myself stop so I'll have something to enjoy in the post-festive glumness of January. But I was already in love with Amy Poehler and this done nothing to undeepen the crush....
