Hand Tool Rescue is a Youtube channel devoted to repairing old hand tools. Slightly sped up, minimal commentary work; perfect to relax to at the end of the day. Some choice vids include: an antique nail gun, a 1940s band saw tooth setter, or a handpowered wall paper cutter.

They really are good. I've watched a few and the format is somewhere between primitive technology guy and the 'Keep your dick in a vise" guy.

Given that just this week I've bought three rusty old planes to restore, I think this might be for me.... thanks!

I'm personally in the process of restoring a Disston D-115 hand saw that I scored for 2 bucks at a thrift store so it makes me happy to get inspiration.

Sheesh, buy a guy a drink first before you seduce me like that... I love old tools and this channel is awesome.

Very excited to watch these. Literally just finished restoring my great, great grandfather’s D-8 Disston handsaw yesterday.

Ooh, good find. I also have a couple of hand saws awaiting restoration. Approximately two years ago I bought some antique hand planes in need of light restoration off eBay, just before prices rose sharply (I blame Paul Seller's excellent advice for that price hike). Even though they were my first attempts, the restored tools have given me nothing but satisfaction since then.

I filed my rusty old rotary lawn edger until the tips were bright and lethal-looking. It worked like a charm today. Much more satisfying than paying good money for an electric one at Home Depot.

Ditto. Except I used the kit/jig off amazon for mine (after finding that the lapping powder/paste method didn't work well) and it was easy mode. Small yard and mowing slightly more often but it's going great.
